On The Radio...Mumford and Sons gets the Album of the Month for January 2012 with "Sigh No More"
There were more album releases
from independent artists in 2011.
Whether it was on vinyl, CD or digital format, they gave the public the
sounds that dominated the 1980’s such as alternative and early RAP music; but
is a fact that folk rock is returning in a very smooth way via the British
Isles, as it reclaims the spot as the sub-genre for the intellectual, political
people. Just like in the 60’s, where
folk rock had a great significance in the changes of social reform in the United
States, this time the genre is moving out of the Alternative into Indie Folk,
reminding us that is time to think, and request for another social reform which
is much needed since the bombings of 9/11.
Is interesting to see that
Mumford and Sons’ debut album “Sigh No More” keeps getting major nominations
since its release in October 2009. The
album already received nominations from important awards like Billboard, Q,
American Music Awards, and, even, the Grammys.
Once again, in 2012, this British Folk group has four major Grammy nominations.
On The Radio is proud to present “Sigh
No More” by Mumford and Sons as the album of the month for January. Don’t miss this Grammy nominated album,
played in its entirely, on Thursday, January 19th, starting @ 8:30
PM AST, only on Stickam.
